The Problem

Finding a trusted colleague on short notice shouldn't mean calling around.

A hearing in a court you can't reach. A filing due while you're in another matter. A client who needs urgent support and no one you know is free.

Most lawyers solve this informally — a phone call, a WhatsApp message, an unspoken favour. Documents and payment are handled outside any secure system, with no verification of who's actually on the other end.

CounselTask brings this onto one platform, built exclusively for verified Nigerian legal practitioners.

I needed someone to hold brief in Ikeja by 9am and had no way to confirm the lawyer I found online was even called to bar.

A familiar story, every practice

Help and Support

Questions, disputes, and everything in between.

We verify your credentials against the Supreme Court of Nigeria enrolment list and confirm your identity using government-issued identification.

Payments are held securely in escrow and released to the assisting lawyer immediately after the engaging lawyer confirms successful completion of the task.

If a dispute arises, our support team reviews evidence submitted by both parties (such as proof of court appearance or completed drafts) and resolves it fairly according to our dispute resolution guidelines.

Still need help?

Submit a support ticket and our team will respond, or read our full dispute resolution guidance.
